Human Daylight Time

Human Daylight Time
We move hands
On man-made clocks
And do nothing to the tides.
Nor change the currents birds will ride
To migrate when good and ready.

The sun pays us no mind,
And sets when it darn well pleases.
Hurricanes shrivel in cold water,
Not because they’re out of season.
Leaves go yellow,

No matter how bright our days.
Whales don’t heed human time,
Which cannot be saved.
We move hands on man-made clocks
And change – well - nothing, really.
